Ann (Fish) Long

Class of 1959 Paducah High Graduate.

On August 23, 1959, I married Homer Lee Long.  We moved to a farm across the road from his parents.  Then in 1963, we bought a farm of our own.  We lived in Paducah until 1988.

Homer had several off farm jobs, while I was a wife and mother.  He worked for Afton Willingham, Grow Gin , and Paducah Motor Co. as a bookkeeper.   He was Manager of the Paducah Chamber of Commerce and Office Manager for an oil company he and 19 other guys started.

We were active in Community affairs and Band Boosters.  I was active in P.T.A. and Music Club, as well as participating in most musical activities in the Community.

We have 2 children LeAnn and Larry which we raised in Paducah.  They both graduated as Salutatorians of their classes at Paducah High School.

In 1987, Homer  went to work in Burkburnett, Tx.  In 1988, after getting our affairs settled in Paducah, we moved to Burkburnett.  He and a friend started an Air Filter Service , which is still in operation. although Homer is no longer associated with it.  He worked for a Steel Building Manufacturing business, and for a non-profit organization in Wichita Falls.

In 2005. Homer became ill, and had to retire.  He was sick for 2 years, before they found what was wrong with him.. He had surgery in 2007 to put a valve to drain excess fluid from his brain.  He is fine now, and we spend a lot of time dancing.

We follow a local band, and dance every Friday night, plus on other occasions.   Our kids live in Clovis, N.M.,and Sugarland, Tx.  We have 4 grandkids, LeAnn has 1 daughter who is a Sophmore at New Mexico State University, and Larry has 3 boys, Christopher who is 15 ,and a set of twin boys, Matthew and Joshua who are 12,,,,
